Hoinart Association: PortAble Voices for the Community

Who we are and what we do

HOINART Association’s main goal is to promote the theatrical arts, both as a performing art form and as an educational and therapeutic tool, especially among young people and marginalized people or in areas without access to culture.

HOINART Association has as founding members actors of the Portabil Theatre Timișoara – a troupe that has been very active on the Timisoara scene for four years, not only through appearances at various events and festivals (Check-Art, Street Delivery, Plai, etc.), but also through volunteer work with institutionalized children and young people.

Since its establishment (2019), we have run the projects Youth Start Șagului, funded by the Act For Tomorrow Association through the StartONG program, in which, in partnership with FITT Timișoara, we organized a mini-festival with the aim of highlighting one of the new youth centers and Red Days White Nights, a documentary project dedicated to the memory of the martyrs of the Revolution, carried out in partnership with the Association Timișoara 2021 – European Capital of Culture, with the support of Timișoara City Hall and the City Council, through the priority cultural program “Timișoara. European Capital of Culture 2021”, part of the Cultural Programme TM2021 in 2019.

Through this project we aim to carry out radio theatre workshops with a minimum of 10 beneficiaries, young people with disabilities, over three months and to produce the first professional radio theatre show created exclusively by people with disabilities in our community.
